A collaborative effort with two other team members Evan Grant and Rachel Warren, our goal was to create a logo and branding system for the non-profit Alliance of Design and Construction Professionals (ADCP). With keywords such as open, friendly, diversity, partnership and potential being identified from out initial meeting with the heads of ADCP and their mission statement. Our team began drafting up logos to design to their more open, contemporary and non-elitist attitude.
As the team head I began working with colors that went along with the feel that they were looking for. I found a visual identity of four that could be created from the initials, as well as the roundness that came from all four letters. This was played with the roundness and shape to create a further tear drop shape, experimenting with shape further, the door imagery was found.
The logo to the left was the chosen one by the ADCP group and designed by my team member Evan Grant. The highlighted door elements found there way into the elongated shapes of the letter-mark and the original colors are still chosen. My final delivered logo is shown below.
